Week 10: Texas at Texas Tech Prediction
Well guys, we can't win 'em all. Unfortunately, the game has us losing today, 23-16. I for one do not believe that will happen. Basically, the only good things that happened were a touchdown by Eric Stephens and two picks by Corn Dog. PROVE THE GAME WRONG RAIDERS! Wreck 'em.

Week 7: West Virginia at Texas Tech Prediction
Guys, I'm sorry. I put last week's loss against OU all on me. I didn't get to post my prediction last week. Had I done that, Tech would've known that they were supposed to win 49-35. Also, I didn't wear my lucky tech polo last weekend, further damaging Tech's chances to win the game.
Alas, here I am, Tech polo on, posting my prediction for the WVU/Tech game.
Tech wins this game 31-29. It was a grind, but Tech gets it done, mostly in part to the 4 turnovers forced by their defense. Seth Doege goes 18-31 for 306 yards, with 3 touchdowns and 2 picks. Jace Amaro catches 4 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. Bradley Marquez added 104 reception yards and Eric Stephens caught 6 passes out of the backfield for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns. It was a tough day for the running game, but Kenny Williams gains 16 yards and finds paydirt once.
The defense was stellar, allowing only 29 points, but forcing 4 turnovers. Bruce Jones gets a pick and D.J. Johnson, Sam Eguavoen, and Cody Davis all forced fumbles, helping Tech get its 5th (supposed to be 6th) win of the year.

Week 5: Texas Tech at Iowa State Prediction
After a long two weeks, we're back in action! Sorry about the lack of prediction for the Tech - New Mexico game, but let's be real, did we expect anything other than the final result? This week, Tech takes on Iowa State in Ames, Iowa. Here's what NCAA thinks is going to happen:
Texas Tech Iowa State
Final Score: 52 38
Total Offense: 481 432
Rushing Yards: 83 141
Passing Yards: 398 291
Third Down Conv: 9-13 7-15
Turnovers: 5 4
Texas Tech wins this one in ugly fashion. Tech QB Seth Doege goes 24-39 passing for 398 yards, with 3 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. RB Eric Stephens had 8 carries for 33 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Kenny Williams added 4 carries for 24 yards and a score.
Tech wideout, Eric Ward, had a monster game, hauling in 9 catches for 215 yards, including a 69 yard touchdown catch. Bradley Marquez had 5 catches for 75 yards and a touchdown, Darrin Moore had 4 catches for 40 yards, and Javon Bell added 3 catches for 39 yards and a score.
Tech's defense employed a bend but not break strategy. Linebackers Will Smith and Terrance Bullitt, as well as cornerback Cornelius Douglas, all had interceptions. Bullitt also forced and recovered a fumble, giving Iowa State 4 turnovers. Like I said, Tech wins, but it ain't pretty. Guns up!

Mid-Week Schmorgesborg
Slumping on Hump Day? Here's something to occupy your attention span for the next few minutes.
NCAA Predictions vs. Actual Results
First, let's see how my NCAA predictions stacked up with the actual first two games Texas Tech has played.
Week 1
Prediction: Northwestern State - 3, Texas Tech - 42
Actual: Northwestern State - 6, Texas Tech - 44
Only a 5 point difference? Not too bad, NCAA.
Week 2
Prediction: Texas Tech - 62, Texas State - 14
Actual: Texas Tech - 58, Texas State - 10
I consider any point difference under 10 is pretty darn good for a prediction.
Ohhhh, Billy
The situation between Billy Gillispie and Texas Tech can be summed up with a simple picture:
You're hot, then you're cold...
This is essentially the song I sing in my head anytime I look at how the Braves are doing. For some reason, the Braves offense and pitching can never get in sync. In fact, the Braves' bats have been all but silent these past 10 games, scoring more than 3 runs in a game only 3 times, yet the team still won 7 out of those 10 games. This has been due in large part to a rested dominant bullpen and starting pitching that has been able to go more than 5 innings per game. The one game wildcard playoff system freaks me out, but my worry has subsided slightly with the coming out party of this former shortstop/middle reliever/starter/Tommy John recipient/middle reliever, now stud ace.
Finally, the team you all care about..
The Medulla Amendola's ( yes, my fantasy football team) are 1-0 on the season with a 104-75 drubbing of the Devin Calhoun's. If you wonder about my success, all you have to do is look at the hairstyle of choice for most of my players. Then you will know.
That's all I've got for this week. Until next time, stay classy.

Week 2: Texas Tech at Texas State Prediction
Well, Texas Tech has started things right and now sits at 1-0 on the season. They roll into Texas State and take care of business, racking up a staggering 653 yards of total offense en route to a 62-14 drubbing of Texas State. Senior QB Seth Doege goes 26 for 34, passing for 324 yards and 6 TD's.
Sophomore running back Kenny Williams delivered the rushing payload with 18 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown. Senior Eric Stephens added 4 carries for 28 yards, but also had 8 receptions for 69 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The receiving corps was led by both Eric Ward and Bradley Marquez. Ward had 6 receptions for 159 yards and a score, while Marquez had 3 receptions for 117 yards and 2 TD's. Darrin Moore added 5 receptions of his own for 42 yards and a touchdown and Javon Bell added 4 receptions for 35 yards.
Tech's defense allowed 101 yards on the ground and 228 yards through the air, but were effective in only allowing Texas State to score a touchdown in the first and fourth quarters. Cornerback Eugene Neboh had his first interception of the year and linebacker Will Smith forced a fumble, giving Texas Tech its first two turnovers of the season. Tech is now 2-0 on the season. Guns up!
