Week 2: Texas Tech at Texas State Prediction

Well, Texas Tech has started things right and now sits at 1-0 on the season. They roll into Texas State and take care of business, racking up a staggering 653 yards of total offense en route to a 62-14 drubbing of Texas State. Senior QB Seth Doege goes 26 for 34, passing for 324 yards and 6 TD's.

Sophomore running back Kenny Williams delivered the rushing payload with 18 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown. Senior Eric Stephens added 4 carries for 28 yards, but also had 8 receptions for 69 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The receiving corps was led by both Eric Ward and Bradley Marquez. Ward had 6 receptions for 159 yards and a score, while Marquez had 3 receptions for 117 yards and 2 TD's. Darrin Moore added 5 receptions of his own for 42 yards and a touchdown and Javon Bell added 4 receptions for 35 yards.

Tech's defense allowed 101 yards on the ground and 228 yards through the air, but were effective in only allowing Texas State to score a touchdown in the first and fourth quarters. Cornerback Eugene Neboh had his first interception of the year and linebacker Will Smith forced a fumble, giving Texas Tech its first two turnovers of the season. Tech is now 2-0 on the season. Guns up!
