Week 1, Texas Tech vs. Northwestern State Prediction

Hello everyone,

Football season is here! And with that, sports blogging becomes relevant again. Something I'm going to do this year is have predictions for this season. However, I'm lazy, so I decided to simulate the entire season on NCAA football and use those results as the basis for my predictions. Here is a recap prediction for today's game between Texas Tech and Northwestern State:

Final Score: Texas Tech: 42, Northwestern State 3

Tech's offensive reputation for being prolific was preserved in this game, as Doege and co. racked up 453 yards of total offense. Doege led the way, going 26 for 31 passing for 321 yards and 4 touchdowns, as well as adding a rushing touchdown. Eric Stephens, who showed no signs of a knee injury, led all running backs, rushing 8 times for 75 yards and a score, as well as contributing 4 receptions for 52 yards. Sophomore running back Kenny Williams added 7 attempts for 40 yards and a reception for 11 yards.

Eric Ward led the receiving corps to the tune of 9 receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown. Darrin Moore added 8 receptions for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns. Newcomer, JUCO transfer Javon Bell, showed some flashes with 2 receptions for 62 yards. The defense, eager to prove that last season was a fluke, stifled the Northwestern State offense, allowing only 3 points in mop up duty. It was a good start for Tommy Tuberville's squad as  they look to forget last season and start a new bowl streak this year. Guns up!
